Photo courtesy of Djof.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a title=\"Project for Public Spaces\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pps.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Project for Public Spaces<\/a> (PPS), an internationally-recognized non-profit organization that helps communities get the most out of their streets, both as transportation links for all modes of commuters and as vital places for people to enjoy, recently compiled its list of \u201c<a title=\"9 Great Streets Around The World\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pps.org\/info\/newsletter\/From_Place_to_Place_Part_Two\/touring_the_worlds_finest_streets\" target=\"_blank\">9 Great Streets Around The World<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Affectionately known as \u201cThe Main\u201d, <a title=\"Boulevard Saint Laurent\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pps.org\/great_public_spaces\/one?public_place_id=778&amp;type_id=30\" target=\"_blank\">Montreal\u2019s Boulevard Saint Laurent<\/a> tops PPS\u2019s list for a number of reasons including its Access &amp; Linkages, Comfort &amp; Image, Uses &amp; Activities, and Sociability.<\/p>\n<p>With <a title=\"vivaNext\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vivanext.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">vivaNext<\/a>, this kind of placemaking will also take place along York Region\u2019s busiest corridors as people come to live, work, shop and play in close proximity to great transit service.
